Megan

Family. Community. Activism.

Megan is a mother, wife, friend, and leader dedicated to fostering stronger communities through community led solutions. She is also the Executive Director and founder of Alpine Achievers Initiative, a Colorado youth-focused nonprofit.

Megan received her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in non-profit leadership and development. Megan enjoys working with organizations to develop fiscally and programmatically sustainable programs that are responsive to community needs and feedback.  She had helped found three other Colorado nonprofits and loves being able to support evolving programs. Megan’s strives to provide tools and guidance that set the client up for long term success while centering core beliefs of inclusivity and valuing diversity through all interactions and actions.

    Nonprofit Leadership and Management Program - Feb. 2016 – Dec. 2016, COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER Colorado

  • Launched multiple nonprofit organizations, directing operations of entities with annual operating budgets of up to $1.4 million.

    Coordinated field placements for more than 100 AmeriCorps interns contributing over 200,000 hours to date, partnering with 30+ field organizations while maintaining 97% retention rates.

    Participated in the development of regional programs including new childcare center and racial justice initiatives, with resources and interventions impacting more than 7,000 residents each year.

    Successfully secured more than $3 million in grant funding interfacing with federal, state and private entities including the U.S. Department of Social Services and Department of Education

    The Cornerstone Award is intended to recognize individuals or organizations that show a consistent commitment to race, gender, and age equality by creating opportunities through employment, funding, and community outreach.

  • Presenter at the Community Resource Center's 2021 State of the Sector

    This event is a unique opportunity for nonprofit leaders, foundation executives and staff, stakeholders, and sector supporters to connect and reflect.

America's Service Commissions (ASC) is pleased to announce that the 2023 ASC Training & Technical (TTA) Assistance Directory is now available, which features Strauss Consulting as a recommended resource.

This directory is a resource provided free of charge to connect state and territorial service commissions and national service and volunteer programs nationwide to high-quality trainers and consultants who are peer-recommended, are knowledgeable of our field, and/or have expertise on topics relevant to our network. These consultants have demonstrated a commitment to commissions and their programs.
